Game Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers @ New York Knicks

The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to extend their eight-game winning streak as they are facing the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern on FoxSportsOhio.

At 7-1, the Wine and Gold are off to their best eight-game start since 1988-89 (also 7-1). It is the 3rd time in franchise history the Cavs have won at least seven of the first eight games. If Cleveland wins on Friday night, they will tie their best mark after nine games, which is 8-1 set in 1976-77, according to Cavs.com.

New York (4-5) fell 95-93 at Charlotte on Wednesday against the Hornets as rookie, Kristaps Porzingis, drilled a three-pointer but it was reviewed and ruled to have gone in after the buzzer. Porzingis had 10 points and 15 boards for his fourth double-double.

This is the second of four regular season matchups between the two teams, with the Cavs taking the first meeting 96-86 on November 4th at The Q. Cleveland overcame a 15-point deficit that night and outscored the Knicks in fastbreak points, 24-0.
