The Cleveland Cavaliers look to bounce back after a tough loss at Toronto Wednesday night. The Cavs travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets (9-6). Tipoff set for 7 p.m. Eastern on FoxSportsOhio.
Cavs saw their three-game winning streak snapped in Toronto on Wednesday with a 103-99 loss to the Raptors. In Wednesday’s game, LeBron James passed Reggie Miller (25,279) for 18th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with his free throw at the 7:33 mark of the second quarter. He now has 25,298 points for his regular season career and is 316 points away from overtaking Alex English (25,613) for 17th in NBA history.
LeBron wasn’t the only Cavalier to record a milestone on Wednesday as J.R. Smith nailed his 1,500th career three-pointer, becoming the 24th player in league history to accomplish that feat.
Charlotte has been outstanding at home this season, as they’re looking for their eighth straight home win tonight against the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers swept the Hornets, 3-0, last season and won by an average margin of 17.4 points (105.7-88.3). Cleveland also averaged 24.3 assists and just 9.7 turnovers against the Hornets.
Last season, the Cavaliers held the Hornets to 90 points or less in each contest for a combined average of 88.3 points on .409 shooting from the field, including .217 from beyond the arc.
Timofey Mozgov could return tonight for the Cavaliers. Matthew Dellavedova will return tonight.
