The Canton Charge, still looking for their first win of the season, come away empty once again, this time in 2OT to the Grand Rapids Drive 127-121. The Charge move to 0-3 and the Drive move to 2-0 with the Drive’s first two wins against the Charge.
The Charge, just right before tipoff made a trade with Northern Arizona and acquired Grant Jerrett who has experience playing in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz. To make room for the trade, the Charge waived Trey Davis, who was still on the roster before tipoff on the roster handouts for reporters.
The Charge had great performances from almost all of the players. 7 players scored in double digits. Every player who came into the score at least once. Including a triple-double, his first of the season by Quinn Cook.
Also, a funny moment: Ray McCallum of the Grand Rapids Drive, had his last name spelled wrong on the back of his jersey and it kept falling apart. Through a little bit of the game, the name on the back of the jersey read: M. Callu. After a while, he just got tired of it and ripped the rest of it all and played the rest of the game with no name on the back of his jersey.
