LeBron passes MJ as Cavs defeat the Pelicans

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 107-102. LeBron James passed Michael Jordan for scoring in double figures in consecutive games. James owns the record now at 877 games, and there is no stopping him at this rate.

The Cavs win over the Pelicans keeps the team in the third seed in the Eastern Conference, at least for now. Had the Cavs lose, they possibly could of dropped to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

George Hill did leave the game early due to an injury.

However, the Cavs were led by LeBron James, who had 27 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds and one steal. Jordan Clarkson had 23 points, four rebounds and two assists. Rodney Hood had 16 points, two rebounds and two assists.

The Cavs as a team shot 47.8 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three. The Cavs also only had 10 turnovers on the night.

Every game is crucial now for the Cavs to lock up the third seed, as any loss at any point could drop to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs are only up a half a game on Philadelphia and up a full game on Indiana.

The Cavs home stand will continue Sunday night against Dallas.
